How to prepare for GATE exam.

1. Buy hard copy of previous year question papers. (Or Download GATE Mechanical APP ) 2. Look at the syllabus and understand the weightage for each subject from previous year question papers. All subjects don't have equal weightage; few subjects are preferred over others. E.g. Mathematics questions are having weightage of 15 marks. 3. Prioritize subjects based on marks, preference and importance . Look for any specific change in this year's examination. If subjects are not arranged as per its importance one may end up in random preparation which will not guarantee the success in the GATE. 4. Do the reverse planning from the date of exam (Generally, date of exam is January last Sunday). Allocate the appropriate time for each subject. Keep last month for only practicing the question papers and revision. 5. Read through various chapters , clear the concepts. Concept clarity is very important.
